miles5280s answered: What do you think childhood was like for Kumatora?

For all extents and purposes, Kumatora’s childhood was fine - the Magypsies acted as her extended family (save Locria, who was relatively uninvolved in the affairs of the others as a whole), though they lived so far apart that Kumatora’s primary childhood influences were Ionia and, on occasion, Aeolia.  As the (supposed) Princess of Osohe Castle, she inherited the old castle, but was raised by Ionia and taught about PSI.

But as she grew up she disliked being coddled more and more.  Kumatora’s tomboyishness, thus, is a direct consequence of her being raised by Magypsies, a masculine response to the ultra-feminine.

At some point, she and Ionia had a falling-through regarding Kumatora’s independence, and she ran away from home, deciding to take permanent residence in the ghost-filled castle.  However, Kumatora eventually apologized to Ionia and they mended their relationship, Kumatora staying in the castle while visiting her caretaker frequently.  She also met Wess around this time.
