A Not-So-Brief Vignette Spanning my Childhood
In regards to video games and my dad.
I may or may not have cried while writing this. Which is to say I totally did, wow what a wimp.
Staying up to see if maybe I can catch a glimpse of the Perseid Meteor Shower tonight. Wish me luck!
Class Schedules are a Thing
Oh yeah I was gonna post my class schedule for next semester. I’m not gonna go in to times (too much) or other crazy things, but here you go:
- Astronomy Lab - Unlike normal Astronomy, where we learn all the conceptual stuff, Astronomy Lab focuses on learning to use observational equipment. Which means I get to go up to the observatory on the roof of one of the buildings on campus again, which is awesome.
- Shakespeare: Representative Plays - I love me some Shakespeare. The professor teaching this class is the same one as the “English Literature up to the 1700s” course I took, as well, and he was great!
- Introduction to Narrative - A writing class about writing and stuff. Only late at night. It’s exactly what it says on the tin, really.
- World Religions - I’m not-so-secretly a huge nerd for this kind of thing. And it’s part of the Section III Cluster thingy I have to do for general education, so bring it on! (The reading list looks awesome, too. I’ve always wanted to read the Bhagavad Gita~ No, really.)
- Japanese Calligraphy - The good news is that this class is gonna be amazing. The bad news is that it’s early on Saturday mornings.
I still have…two weeks of summer break left? It gets cut short a bit since I have to, you know, get to school and move in and everything, and then there’s that last weekend and then classes start. They really make it a pain to get classes too so I’m glad I got in to stuff that (save calligraphy) I honestly need to take to graduate.
Sorry for all of the super-rough sketches lately - been trying to get myself back in to the swing of things.
Also, classes start in a few weeks and as much as I’m looking forward to it, after everything that happened last year I’m more than a little apprehensive.
There were lots of sunflowers at my job today. (Also, gladioluses.)

So, would you guys believe (and I can’t believe I’m admitting this) that I have not seen a single full episode of either Adventure Time or Gravity Falls?
I shall probably rectify this in the upcoming weeks.
I just realized that I never took any pictures of the stuff I got at Anime Expo.

On the Lack of Updates. Again.
I’m sorry I haven’t updated anything lately.
I really wish I could lean on the excuse of buying lots of video games (and that is indeed a thing that I have done), but there’s a lot more going on than that. Between work and driving and dealing with college and money and college money and other personal matters (which have yet to completely sort themselves out, still working on that), my summer ended up being less of a get-back-on-track period and more of a self-searching period.
But somehow, it’s still less of a time issue and more of a motivational issue. I’m definitely busy, mind you, but I was able to make SaB pages in high school and at the start of college no problem. And it’s not like I want to quit working on SaB (Or Hinawa Story or Impact or anything else) by any means - I still love the characters and the story and still have tons of stuff planned for the future. Again, this is something I’m actively trying to figure out right now.
I don’t want to make too many excuses (pages will be done when they’re done, I guess, and my readers have been very nice about it - you guys are patient and awesome and yes), but I feel like I should tell it how it is, or at least mostly.
Though I have been allowing myself to fall in love with video games again this summer. It’s been a while, video games! I missed you guys~ Didn’t play that many in the last year ;_;
